The Color of My Skin

2018, Print Design

A series of tape and collage explorations inspired by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s TED talk, “The Danger of a Single Story,” which discusses how generalizations are complicit in the perpetuation of stereotypes and single stories. These hand-crafted prints utilize found scraps and materials from around my home workspace to generate typographic and geometric forms. The images were designed and inspired by my bi-racial identity and the experiences I faced growing up Black and Filipino in the United States.
